Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how the Chrome extension Webpage Coordinate Retriever (“the Extension”) handles information. The Extension’s only purpose is to help users capture, record, and copy mouse click coordinates on web pages.
1. Information We Collect
The Extension does not collect personal information, browsing history, account data, or analytics. It does not send any data to remote servers.
When you use the picker, the Extension may temporarily process and store the following information locally on your device:
- Click coordinates (pageX/pageY, clientX/clientY, and related values)
- Whether coordinate picking mode is currently active
- A short list of points you choose to record during a session
2. How Information Is Used
Local coordinate data is used only to:
- Display live and recorded coordinates in the on-page HUD and popup
- Show markers for recorded points
- Allow you to copy coordinates to the clipboard
This data is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising, profiling, or cross-product tracking.
3. Storage and Retention
Recorded points and picker state are stored using Chrome’s local / session storage APIs on your device. Data is retained only for your convenience while using the Extension and can be cleared with the Clear action in the UI, by stopping the picking session, or by removing the Extension.
4. Permissions
The Extension requests only the permissions needed for its core purpose:
- activeTab — interact with the current tab when you start picking
- scripting — inject the picker interface into the active page
- storage — keep picker state and recorded points locally
5. Third-Party Services
The Extension does not include analytics SDKs, advertising networks, authentication providers, or remote APIs. Copied text is written only to your device clipboard when you choose to copy.
6. Children’s Privacy
The Extension is a developer/utility tool and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
7. Changes to This Policy
If privacy practices change, this page will be updated and the “Last updated” date will change. Material changes will be disclosed as required by Chrome Web Store policies.
